I build AI-native engineering organizations and the e-commerce platforms they operate, drawing on twenty years across the UK, Europe and the GCC.

## Engineering organizations should be designed for AI-native delivery, not measured by headcount.

When agents carry a meaningful share of delivery, the org chart, planning system and review model all have to change. The question is no longer which tool to adopt; it is how work is specified, governed and owned.

At Mumzworld, I rebuilt delivery around governed agent teams operating inside the same review, CI and escalation controls as the rest of engineering. The objective is clearer ownership, shorter queues and greater capacity — not automation without accountability.

Consumer e-commerce, conversational commerce, pricing, payments, marketplace operations, fulfilment and loyalty across the GCC and Europe.

Replacing legacy systems without stopping the business through headless e-commerce, native mobile products, data platforms and strangler migrations.

### Security and compliance

ISO 27001 and SOC 2 programmes treated as product and operating decisions, not paperwork added after delivery.

## Four principles I run teams by

01. **Smaller teams, more leverage.** The objective is not a smaller team for its own sake. Clear decomposition, agent-assisted execution and disciplined review create more capacity without adding coordination layers.

02. **Build what defines your economics.** Own the platforms your margin depends on — pricing, payments, fulfilment, identity — and buy the rest. Most build-versus-buy arguments are really arguments about which parts of the business you intend to be good at.

03. **Write the work in plain English.** If a piece of work cannot be stated plainly, it cannot be executed, parallelised or reviewed — by people or by agents. Clarity is an engineering practice, not a communication one.

04. **Security belongs in the product plan.** ISO 27001 and SOC 2 are product decisions with delivery consequences. Treated as a side programme, they become a tax; treated as part of the plan, they become an advantage in enterprise and regulated markets.

## Two decades of measurable outcomes

- **20 years** — Building consumer technology across the UK, Europe and the GCC
- **Zero downtime** — An eleven-year Magento platform replaced through a strangler migration
- **1,000+ stores** — Click & Collect launched across four countries
- **40M registered users** — Shukran rebuilt as a digital identity and loyalty platform with 20M monthly active users across the GCC
- **Three organizations** — Information security and ISO 27001 programmes led end to end

## Current leadership and the path here

At [Mumzworld](https://www.mumzworld.com/), I lead software engineering, product, design, data, content and information security for the GCC’s largest mother, baby and child marketplace.

Earlier leadership roles span SellAnyCar, AW Rostamani, Landmark Group and Potentialife, with responsibility for automotive marketplaces, omnichannel retail, loyalty, SaaS and security programmes. I have also advised Pacer and Belong and mentored leaders through PlatoHQ and Antler.
